About The Position

Provides patient care support in a hospital setting under the supervision of nursing staff, following established nursing practices and policies. Responsibilities may include varied shifts such as weekends, holidays, days, evenings, nights, and on-call hours, along with other assigned duties. The role requires compliance with all federal and state labor laws, particularly youth employment regulations. For employees under age 18, restrictions apply to operating or assisting with powered medical equipment, performing certain patient lifting or transfer tasks, and working specific hours, ensuring safety and legal compliance at all times.

Requirements

  • Completion of CNA certificate program
  • Participating in a Youth Apprentice program
  • Current CNA Certificate in applicable state.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
  • Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Documents care provided according to standards.
  • Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
  • Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
  • Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
