About The Position
UNIT OVERVIEW: Welcome to the Short Stay Unit! Short Stay is a 13 bed unit that treats patients for a variety of illnesses and medical conditions such as stroke, injuries, and concussions. Short Stay will also care for pre op and post op patients. Short Stay is a small unit but BIG on shared objectives. Our team of RN's and PCT's have strong collaboration skills which creates a positive working environment and a profound patient experience. POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Requirements
- CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
- CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED Experience
- Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
