About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Respiratory Cardiac Care Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center provides direct patient care under the supervision and direction of an RN, utilizing the care plan. This is a .9 FTE, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 3, 12-hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends. The CNA assists a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN. Requirements

  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a high functioning team
  • Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
  • Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision and direction of an RN, utilizing the care plan
  • Assist a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN
  • Perform other duties as assigned
