Summary: The C.N.A./PSS is responsible for the provision of hands on care and services to meet identified resident needs. This includes coordination with other staff, implementation of the interdisciplinary service plan for each resident, reporting changes to resident condition and documenting resident physical ability to perform self-care. The C.N.A/PSS observes, documents, and reports all aspects of resident activities of daily living to ensure appropriate level of care and placement. The C.N.A/PSS works under the direction of the Residential Care Manager and with the guidance of the RN to maintain the highest levels of physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standards of care.

Requirements

  • C.N.A. certification in good standing.
  • PSS certification in good standing.
  • One or more years experience in geriatrics.
  • Familiarity with memory loss care
  • BLS within 120 days of hire date.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing.
  • Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through
  • Able to stand/work for most of an 8-12 hour shift.
  • Must be able to bend/lift 25 - 55 lbs. (assisting residents in and out of bed, etc.).
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, contagious diseases and potential for periods of high stress.
