About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a CNA / Nursing Assistant to join their Preop/PACU team in Omaha, NE. This role provides direct patient care and support in the Preop and PACU setting, including vital sign monitoring, patient preparation and recovery assistance, transport, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient care environment under the direction of a registered nurse. Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age (for CNA role)
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska (for CNA role)
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (for CNA and Nursing Assistant roles)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later) (for CNA role)
  • Based on department need, Medication Aide certification and completion of an Injectables course may be required after hire in outpatient settings (for CNA role)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age (for Nursing Assistant role)
  • High school education or equivalent (for Nursing Assistant role)
  • Six months experience in patient care or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant role)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (for Nursing Assistant role)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing (for CNA and Nursing Assistant roles)
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology (for CNA and Nursing Assistant roles)
  • Direct patient care experience (for Nursing Assistant role)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and support in the Preop and PACU setting, including vital sign monitoring, patient preparation and recovery assistance, transport, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient care environment under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient`s plan of care.
