Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Prescription & Referral Nurse Keystone Family Medicine – Catherine Street Keystone Family Medicine – Catherine Street is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused CMA - Prescription & Referral Nurse to join our team! This role is essential in supporting providers, coordinating patient care, and ensuring timely prescription processing and referral management. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Previous clinical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience with EHR (electronic health record) preferred
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Process prescriptions as directed by providers, including refill requests from pharmacies and patients
  • Obtain and manage prior authorizations in accordance with insurance requirements
  • Monitor and manage outgoing patient referrals, ensuring timely processing and follow-up
  • Maintain and work referral queues, including submitting required documentation
  • Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and specialty practices to coordinate care
  • Support providers and clinical staff in delivering efficient, patient-centered services
