About The Position

Gastroenterology Associates of the Piedmont (GAP) is the longest established independent, physician-owned gastroenterology practice in the Piedmont Triad area. They are seeking CMAs or RMAs for their GI Clinics. GAP evaluates new patients, performs consultations, and conducts follow-up visits for chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Their offices handle lab draws, administer injections, and monitor medication therapies. They also offer on-site infusion services and clinical staff assist with various in-office procedures. GAP schedules appointments for outpatient screening, diagnostic, and/or treatment procedures, and their endoscopy centers specialize in colon cancer screening, prevention, endoscopy, and Interstim Bowel Control Therapy. Requirements

  • The CMA or RMA is currently certified or registered in North Carolina.
  • Administering quality clinical care to patients.
  • Broad knowledge of clinical functions.
  • Ability to apply clinical skills and techniques.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred, but not required.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Epic experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
  • Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provides basic patient care as ordered.
  • Administers medications and treatments as directed.
  • Captures and records date of last colonoscopy or lack of.
  • Documents care provided or procedures performed accurately on patient records.
  • Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments and minor medical procedures.
  • Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
  • Participates in implementing the plan of care per provider orders.
  • Follows set protocols/standing orders/algorithms/decision trees established by the physician.
  • Documents interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
  • Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
