Purpose: WH Direct at Megacorp is an employer-based clinic offering accessible and high-quality care for Megacorp employees and dependents. This position serves as a key team member providing clinical, lab, and administrative office support with the highest level of customer service. This position will support the Provider and the WH and Megacorpteam in ensuring quality care to reduce overall cost of care, improve health outcomes and support employees and their families in receiving timely acute, routine, and preventative medical services.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant certification
  • Proficiency in blood draws.

Responsibilities

  • Exudes a friendly and efficient approach in greeting patients and completes clerical check-in and patient management tasks.
  • Performs routine medical tasks as needed for intake/assessment of the patient (including vital signs; point of care testing; EKG’s; and review of medications, allergies, med/surg history, and family history).
  • Provide patient preparation in an empathetic and caring manner explaining examinations, procedures, educational materials as directed by the Provider.
  • Assists Providers with exams and treatment and completes clinical tasks to support patient care including vaccinations, injections, sample collection, basic wound care, etc as needed.
  • Performs blood draws for diagnostic testing, along with proper labeling and storage of samples for processing.
  • Performs lab duties including swabbing, point of care testing, processing labs in office, quality control, order and result entry and processing.
  • Maintains adequate medical supplies in examination rooms and lab area. Works with Provider and Manager in effectively managing par levels and ordering of supplies.
  • Coordinates patient care by scheduling patient appointments, follow-up visits, lab appointments and managing referrals.
  • Handles incoming calls, call backs, faxes, and mail.
  • Maintains effective patient flow.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains effective communication and interacts appropriately with patients, Provider, leadership, and colleagues.
  • Efficiently and accurately documents using the electronic health records maintaining HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assists with patient results and plan of care instructions as directed by Provider.
  • Helps organize and complete patient forms and paperwork.
  • Attends department and team meetings.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly work environment and the cleanest environment for each patient's examination. Manages biohazard while maintaining all OSHA and health regulations and standards.
  • Assists with gathering any necessary medical records or test results as directed by Provider.
  • As assigned by Provider or Manager.
