About The Position

Major Task, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Monitor shifts occur in two shifts per day-Monitors must be able to work all shifts and seven days a week. No single monitor will be given a certain shift off each week, such as Sunday morning shift or Wednesday evening shifts. Monitors are responsible for issuing and verifying pool bands, and must inform the MGR if they suspect nonresidents are using the pool or other facilities. Monitors are also responsible for patrolling parking lot and verifying parking decals are on vehicles. Monitors are expected to be mature, responsible adults. Monitors are to be always polite and respectful to residents. Should a situation arise where a confrontation occurs, please contact the Property Manager’s office as soon as possible during business hours. After hours, you would contact a member of the Board- See monitor binder for contact information Monitors are expected to show up for their shifts on time. Monitors are expected to find a replacement if they are unable to work their scheduled shift. Long vacations will not be accommodated. Monitors must be willing to work at all pool or other facilities areas as needed. As the Monitor, you have received the most current copy of the Pool and/or Facility Rules and are familiar with them. Monitors are not permitted to bring their children with them to work. Monitors may not wear bathing suits while on duty however t-shirts, shorts, and closed toe shoes must be worn while working. If a resident appears impaired or disorderly, monitors will need to contact the Board of Directors or the property manager’s office as soon as possible. Monitors must fill out the monitor log daily on each shift. Monitors are expected to assist in keeping the pool and parking area clean by picking up trash as needed, and cleanup of restrooms. For larger maintenance needs, monitors should inform the property manager and fill out the maintenance request form. Monitors may have cell phones on them while working, however use of the cell phone should not distract them from their duties and obligations as a monitor. No loud music at any time and no headphones or ear buds are to be used when you are on duty.

Requirements

  • Must be responsible, honest and reliable, and able to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Must be practical and stay calm in an emergency.
  • Must understand safe working practices as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass the Background Check.
  • Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
  • Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone.
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects that can weigh up to 40 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
  • This position will require working outdoors in a shaded setting with variable climate, temperatures, and lighting.
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
