About The Position

IronOaks at Sun Lakes is comprised of two interconnected neighborhoods - Ironwood and Oakwood - and is among the most desirable retirement destinations in the Valley thanks to its combination of mature landscape, diverse amenities, and in-town location. The community features two fabulous clubhouses, 45 holes of golf, fitness, tennis & pickleball, softball, pools, trails, and much more. The Club Staff Accountant is responsible and accountable for compiling and maintaining accurate financial records and other related accounting duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Understanding of GAAP guidelines (general accepted accounting principles) as they apply to the position.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to understand financial analysis.
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer services skills and an ability to respond to the needs and requests of coworkers and clients.
  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends to meet business demand.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years related accounting experience preferred.
  • Jonas Club Software and accounting software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSGR) to support the achievement of company goals.
  • Maintain effective communication with all team members to maintain a smooth, informed, and consistent atmosphere related to office functions.
  • Daily interaction with clients, with high degree of service.
  • Maintain accurate financial data, including month-end financials.
  • Maintain daily bank deposit ledger and bank reconciliations.
  • Process checks and accounts payable as applicable.
  • Process AR Payments and Accounts Receivable as applicable.
  • Enter and reconcile daily revenue report.
  • Reconcile credit card charges from all Clubs with proper documentation.
  • Adjust and balance inter-company accounts on a monthly basis, as applicable.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare sales tax returns, as assigned.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.
  • Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
  • Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
  • All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.
