About The Position

Under the supervision of an Area Director, Club Leaders plan, oversee and administer all program activities offered at a school based or stand-alone facility. Program areas include Academic Success, Character & Leadership Development, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, The Arts and Health & Life Skills. Incumbents will hire, train and supervise program staff, oversee care and maintenance of facility and perform related administrative duties.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with, manage, lead and motivate a team.
  • Leadership skills, including conflict resolution, problem solving, decision making, delegation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Person will be of flawless integrity.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must have the visual and auditory capabilities to effectively supervise children.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hire.
  • Mandatory negative TB test or assessment.
  • Driver’s license, auto insurance and personal vehicle.

  • BA in Education, Child Development or related field, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilize programs developed locally and by Boys & Girls Clubs of America to create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging, usefulness, competence and influence for youth.
  • Recruit and retain members through flyers, newsletters and word-of-mouth. Responsible for meeting goals for Membership, attendance and impact metrics.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment. Ensures proper use and maintenance of Club equipment and property.
  • Employ trauma-informed behavior management tools to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all Members.
  • Establish strong relationships with parents, teachers and school administration.
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all direct reports, ensuring a positive and dynamic relationship between all staff and Club members. May include volunteers & independent contractors. Actively leads the team in recruitment efforts and initiatives.
  • Manage financial resources, adhering to monthly budget.
  • Complete all administrative tasks in accordance with Organizational deadlines. Duties include, but are not limited to bi-weekly payroll, weekly attendance tracking and monthly performance reviews.
  • Serving meals to members.
  • Supervision of members during meal service time.
  • Display of civil rights poster and menu at service location.
  • Counting meals and recording the information per CACFP requirements.
  • Completion of meal order form.
  • Collection of menu production records and transport records.
  • Submission of meal count form, meal order form, menu production records, and transport records to CNP Manager.
