Cloud VDI Engineer The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to use their expertise in VMware Horizon and VMware Cloud Foundation to design, implement, and manage Horizon VDI environments. You will ensure seamless performance, scalability, and security of our VDI solutions while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to meet business needs. What You’ll Work On: Design, deploy, and manage the VDI VMware Horizon and Windows Remote Desktop environments. Assist customers with issues, troubleshoot systems, and resolve repair tickets. Optimize VDI and RDP performance by monitoring resource utilization and implementing best practices for high availability and scalability. Configure and manage VDI and RDP infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual machines, and storage. Ensure the security of VDI and RDP environments through access controls, patch management, and endpoint protection solutions. Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting languages such as PowerShell. Support VDI and RDP users by diagnosing and resolving technical issues and providing training as needed. Maintain up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures. Collaborate with OPS teams to integrate VDI and RDP solutions with existing infrastructure and implement new technologies.   • Optimize VDI and RDP performance by monitoring resource utilization and implementing best practices for high availability and scalability.
  • Configure and manage VDI and RDP infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual machines, and storage.
  • Ensure the security of VDI and RDP environments through access controls, patch management, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Support VDI and RDP users by diagnosing and resolving technical issues and providing training as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with OPS teams to integrate VDI and RDP solutions with existing infrastructure and implement new technologies.
  • Stay updated on VDI, VMware, and Windows Server technologies to recommend and implement improvements.
  • 4+ years of experience architecting, designing, and managing VMware environments
  • Experience with VMware Horizon solutions or VDI and RDP technologies
  • Experience with VDI and RDP desktop image build and deployment technologies
  • Experience writing CMD scripts, VB scripting, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of Windows server and desktop environments, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 or 2016, and troubleshooting with VMware Horizon and Windows OS
  • Ability to assist in configuring and maintaining group policies
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Experience with Zero Trust principles and their application in VDI environments
  • Experience with VMware ESXi or VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) with the Desktop and Mobility (DTM) Track Certification
