About The Position

The IT System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and customer-facing environments. This role covers Server administration, Linux environments, AWS environment management, cloud applications and firmware lifecycle support, license reconciliation, system monitoring, and security hardening. The System Administrator also provides escalation support for migrations, account conversions, and product lifecycle transitions in coordination with Tier 3 Support, Product, and Sales teams. This position requires a mix of hands-on technical expertise, proactive monitoring, documentation, and vendor/license management to ensure reliability, compliance, and customer success. Successful employees have at least five years of experience working in an IT role, may have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, management, or another related field and are able to work proficiently to administer VMWare virtualization, Amazon AWS, Docker, Linux and generalized knowledge of cloud applications. Required to be familiar with knowledge and application of industry standard cybersecurity frameworks (i.e., NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This is a full-time, exempt role with the option to work remotely or in the Raleigh, NC office. Allbridge is currently operating under a hybrid work model, allowing colleagues the opportunity to connect with others in person and the flexibility to work remotely. For some business groups and positions, job function requirements may require more time at the primary work location, while greater flexibility may be in place for others.

Requirements

  • Preference to have successful completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information technology, network engineering, management, or another related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT management role including at least 3 years in IT system administration.
  • Strong expertise with Linux server administration.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, cloud applications, and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with license reconciliation and asset management.
  • Networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs).
  • Must be familiar with knowledge and application of industry standard cybersecurity frameworks (i.e., NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team member in a fast paced, and high-volume work environment, operating with a high level of detail and conscientiousness.
  • Uses new information or approaches to overcome major resistance or objections.
  • Demonstrates technical and/or professional proficiency in identifying different types of escalation, adjusting for difficulties, and completing service tickets efficiently.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able and remain flexible to travel to various current and prospective customer, sales, and project locations - domestic and international, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality experience in a network environment a plus.
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS SysOps, RHCSA, CompTIA Linux+) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for migrations, upgrades, and system operations of our cloud-based platforms.
  • Implement security and compliance hardening across all supported platforms, including patching, CVE remediation, and adherence to vendor EOL/EOSL timelines.
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery processes are in place and validated through regular testing.
  • Standardize monitoring and alerting across platforms (Auvik, CloudWatch, SNMP, etc.), consolidating critical metrics like network performance, CPU, RAM, disk usage, core device outages.
  • Own and manage our best practices for our monitoring platforms and collaborate and provide direction for installation and support to improve our current standards and overall data quality.
  • Coordinate with vendors, e.g. Aruba, Fortinet, Ruckus, Nomadix, Auvik, Unifi, Eleven, on technical issues and upgrades related to our customer-facing platforms.
  • Conduct capacity planning by tracking load, AWS resource usage, and database growth, making proactive recommendations for scaling and cost improvements in coordination with the SVP of Engineering and Product and VP of Software Development.
  • Collaborate with the development team on integrations for monitoring and other operational improvements.
  • Work with the support organization to ensure customer-facing platforms and servers are maintained and following best practices and migrate to the best standard releases.
  • Coordinate and manage changes to systems that will have customer impact and planning required for their completion.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a reliable member of the incident response and disaster recovery team.

  • Identify opportunities to accomplish multiple objectives.
  • Remain curious with an aptitude to research and adopt innovative solutions.
