About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer – Storage to design, deploy, and manage cloud storage solutions that ensure high availability, durability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of storage technologies, data security, storage access protocols, and cloud backup/DR strategies. This role focuses on delivering resilient, cost-effective, and scalable storage architectures across cloud environments.

Responsibilities

Set up, configure, and manage cloud storage services such as object storage, block storage, file storage, and archival solutions.
Administer storage provisioning, lifecycle policies, snapshots, replication, and retention strategies.
Monitor storage availability, capacity, and performance metrics.
Design and implement cloud-based backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
Ensure data protection, redundancy, and failover mechanisms meet business continuity standards.
Conduct periodic DR drills, validation tests, and backup integrity checks.
Analyze storage usage and performance to implement right-sizing and cost-optimization strategies.
Utilize tiering, lifecycle management, and access patterns to reduce storage costs.
Troubleshoot latency issues, throughput constraints, and performance bottlenecks.
Ensure data compliance with organizational, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements.
Implement storage security controls including encryption, IAM policies, access governance, and audit logging.
Work with security teams to address vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and risk findings.
Apply deep knowledge of storage access protocols such as NFS, SMB, iSCSI, S3 API, etc.
Recommend appropriate storage types and architectures based on performance, durability, and use-case requirements.
Integrate storage services with compute, networking, and database components.
Perform storage capacity planning and forecasting.
Maintain data lifecycle management processes for archiving, retention, and deletion.
Provide storage utilization reporting and recommendations to stakeholders.
