About The Position

SmartSource IT is a division of RealPage that provides a host of support and solutions for SmartSource clients in the Property Management Industry. The Cloud Solutions Engineer must possess superior technical aptitude as well as being able to interface directly with clients and stakeholders. This role is vital in ensuring that the solutions and standards we have in place for our clients are followed through and executed with precision in a timely manner. There is a heavy dependence in understanding cloud-based technologies and its applications in a various of settings across a portfolio of clients. Due to this role being in an MSP environment, this candidate will be expected to be able to adapt to the challenges and come up with creative approaches to implement these cloud services as it aligns with our client’s needs. As a Cloud Solutions engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions based on Microsoft Azure and other related technologies. You will work closely with the clients to understand their business needs, architect cloud-based solutions, and ensure seamless migration and integration. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud environments that drive innovation and empower these clients' success. Job requirements are M-F 8:00am CST – 5:00pm CST. Some weekend or after-hours work may be required.

Requirements

  • Networking Core concepts
  • CompTIA Network+ or 5+ years equivalent work experience with networks e.g., DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP, IPv4, VLAN and other OSI Layers 1-4 concepts.
  • 5+ year(s) experience with various routers/firewall/switches e.g., Cisco Meraki, Ruckus, Ubiquiti, WatchGuard, Netgear, Dell, or HP, and some Azure Firewall experience is a plus but not required.
  • At least 5 years in an MSP Environment supporting clients.
  • Office 365/Azure, Teams Management, Teams Voice, Exchange
  • Cloud-based identity solutions (Microsoft Azure AD, Okta, etc.)
  • Proven experience as an IT Consultant and Technical Engineer/Architect preferred.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role in designing and deploying solutions with providing direction and guidance to other engineers as needed.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2008 to 2019 and in Virtualization Technologies (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V)
  • Advanced experience with VPNs, VPCs, SD-WAN, and complex IP routing/switching concepts.
  • Advanced understanding of Active Directory, Azure, Office365, Exchange, Teams, and Teams Voice
  • Certifications in Microsoft platforms such as Azure, MSCP, VSP, or other certifications or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Knowledgeable in PowerShell, automation and scripting and ability to apply this skill in managing monitoring and troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing service desk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery
  • Advanced knowledge of server and network monitoring tools (SCOM, ConnectWise, SolarWinds Orion, Liongard)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of many of the following: Networking concepts (e.g. DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, subnets)
  • Azure/365
  • Exchange On-Prem/Online
  • Server OS’s (2008 to 2019)
  • SharePoint
  • Teams/OneDrive
  • Responsible for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft based Cloud technology including (but not limited to) Office 365, Azure, Intune, Auto Pilot, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Skype for Business, MFA, Teams, Teams Voice and ADFS
  • Design IT systems ensuring the right architecture and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions and assessing impact of users.
  • Create complex support documentation (SOPs) for client environments and turnover support for those to the Tier I, II, and III Service Desk team.
  • Assist with configuration of Cloud based Assets, Servers, Networks, Storage, Containers, Virtualization
  • Ability to lead high level discussions and meetings with clients around ground to cloud migration strategies and project manage all tasks and deliverables from start to finish.
  • Document and record all activities using web-based ticketing systems and support request tracking tools.
  • Continuous evaluation, development and deployment of migration methodologies and processes to refine/define approaches to existing and new work product offerings.
  • Deliver high quality work in both large-scale project environments and smaller, single staffed engagement models.
  • Manage escalation internally to ensure appropriate servicing of client needs.
  • Understand client requirements and business objectives.
  • Support new technology implementation.
  • Train technical staff on new and existing IT systems
  • Produce detailed-level technology plans and documentation.
  • Familiar with scripting and automation and designing GPOs.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested (or required)
