Cloud Software Engineer
About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support an enterprise service providing software security solutions for customer enclaves. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will design, implement, test, and operate cloud-based software products by leveraging modern software development and system administration best practices. This environment utilizes a microservices architecture with containerized services. The engineering team collaborates closely with customers and cross-agency teams to deliver secure and resilient enterprise software capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software development/engineering, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Software development
- Installation and integration
- Evaluation
- Enhancement
- Maintenance
- Testing
- Problem diagnosis and resolution
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field plus five (5) years of experience
- NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (Security+ or higher) is required.
- One of the following additional certifications is required:
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate
- AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Elastic Certified Engineer
- Candidates must provide proof of required certification during the initial screening process.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software solutions
- Solve complex technical challenges with a focus on reliability and performance
- Lead or contribute to architecture and design reviews
- Support integration, testing, troubleshooting, and system enhancements
- Help shape project scope, schedules, and technical approaches
- Collaborate individually and within the team to review, test, and refine software components
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues
