  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with operational oversight and leadership responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure certifications (AZ-104 or higher).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Sentinel, SolarWinds, Datadog).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/problem/change management.
  • Prior experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Experience modernizing legacy infrastructure into cloud-first or hybrid models.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight for cloud infrastructure, on-prem systems, security operations, and the IT support desk.
  • Own Microsoft Azure strategy and day-to-day oversight, including identity, compute, networking, security, and monitoring.
  • Manage and prioritize work across infrastructure engineering, cloud services, endpoint management, and help desk operations.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with the Managed Service Provider (MSP), ensuring SLAs, performance metrics, and service quality are met.
  • Lead vendor management activities including contract review, renewals, cost optimization, and solution evaluations.
  • Oversee information security posture in partnership with internal stakeholders and third-party providers (MFA, patching, endpoint protection, monitoring).
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, documentation, and escalation procedures.
  • Drive automation and modernization initiatives using PowerShell, scripting, and cloud-native tooling to reduce manual workload.
  • Oversee incident response and problem management, including root-cause analysis and post-incident remediation.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with leadership on technology roadmap planning, infrastructure investment decisions, and risk management.
  • Mentor and support technical staff; set expectations for performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Maintain visibility into infrastructure health through monitoring, reporting, and capacity planning.
