About The Position

Supports Rawhide’s Information Technology objectives by designing and implementing Rawhide’s cloud presence; supporting all cloud platforms; designing and implementing cloud-based applications that are fiscally responsible; migrating existing on-premise applications to the cloud; and developing integration and automation solutions for all applications in use at Rawhide.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, management information systems, or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in IT, including a combination of IT support, server and/or network infrastructure, application development, or preferably cloud engineering
  • One to three years of experience using Python or PowerShell to develop applications and scripts
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize essential daily tasks
  • Ability to effectively share information with a variety of internal stakeholders and external vendors

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Rawhide’s cloud presence by selecting a cloud vendor, aligning with current technology providers, analyzing future opportunities in cloud technology, developing a cloud-first strategy, and building a fully redundant, always-available, anywhere-accessible cloud infrastructure to support current and future growth.
  • Support all cloud platforms by providing technical expertise across cloud platforms provided internally and by external vendors, including all aspects of cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Design and implement fiscally responsible cloud-based applications by analyzing application requirements, developing designs that meet organizational needs, and collaborating with cloud providers, external vendors, and Rawhide teams to implement solutions that meet or exceed requirements; determining the appropriate solution type (IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS).
  • Migrate existing on-premise applications to the cloud by assisting with planning, requirements development, infrastructure design, and transitioning applications to SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS solutions based on organizational and application needs.
  • Develop integration and automation solutions for applications in use at Rawhide by working with project and department leaders to identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve productivity, and lower costs; supporting and maintaining existing automation solutions through updates, fixes, and enhancements.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing information technology publications and online resources, and pursuing skill development opportunities that benefit Rawhide.
  • Protect the credibility of the Rawhide mission by complying with the Rawhide standard of conduct and setting an example, in words and actions, consistent with the organization’s values and beliefs.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, building and maintaining process documentation to support backfilling and cross-training, identifying and automating processes when possible, and working toward annual Information Technology team goals and initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a redundant cloud presence for Rawhide
  • Provide expertise to design, implement, migrate, and support applications in fiscally responsible cloud configurations
  • Provide expertise to migrate existing on-premise applications to cloud solutions
  • Develop integrations and automations that improve efficiency, reduce costs and labor hours, and enable communication between systems
  • Support the Information Technology Manager with ad hoc projects as requested
