General summary: Performs hands-on vulnerability remediation and hardening activities for cloud workloads and cloud configuration standards. Coordinates patching and image hygiene for cloud-hosted systems, supports closure validation using Qualys Vulnerability Management where applicable, and ensures measurable compliance outcomes.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of direct, hands-on cloud engineering experience supporting production workloads.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing secure configurations and hardening in cloud environments.
  • Working familiarity with Qualys Vulnerability Management workflows and closure validation concepts.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
  • Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
  • A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital information technology experience strongly preferred; broader healthcare experience preferred.
  • Certifications highly desirable: Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Support remediation for cloud workloads including image updates, operating system patch coordination for cloud-hosted servers, and configuration remediation.
  • Implement cloud hardening standards including identity and access controls, logging and monitoring configuration, encryption settings, network segmentation controls, and secure configuration baselines.
  • Review Qualys Vulnerability Management findings and partner with server administrators to drive closure validation and reporting for cloud-hosted assets.
  • Support remediation of cloud misconfigurations identified through security and compliance assessments.
  • Maintain metrics for remediation progress, vulnerability aging for cloud assets, and hardening compliance; support service level agreement reporting.
  • Document repeatable remediation patterns and contribute to standard build and hardening approaches.
