We’re looking for a self-starter to work both as part of the team and on individual assignments in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity, and communications. We’re looking to fill this role with someone who currently has the cloud experience, certifications, and skills necessary to execute in large environments, is flexible and enjoys tackling challenges, and desires to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large, multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating it. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Cloud Developer SME, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal customers. You will play a crucial role via the following: Develop a data strategy vision for users with high-end analytical needs by conducting technical briefings, prototyping, road mapping, and creating architecture diagrams. This involves building a data platform that supports data flows/pipelines, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) / Extract, Load and Transform (ELT) and orchestration, data lake/data warehousing, geospatial analysis and services, big data query and analysis. Support stakeholder activities using popular languages, tools, packages, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning frameworks within on-premise or cloud environments Supports program with Fin-Ops initiatives focusing on optimization and efficiency, automation, utilizing industry best practices, integrating data and infrastructure security in all components of the architecture and fostering strong stakeholder relationships Design and architect robust Azure Government cloud infrastructures, including virtual networks, subnets, firewall rules, and VM configurations, to meet project requirements for scalability, high availability, and security Demonstrate strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, Azure Domain Transfer (ADT), and use of Kubernetes Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Azure Resource Manager/Bicep templates) to provision and manage cloud resources Enable consistent environmental builds across development, staging, and production in compliance with FedRAMP deployment processes Integrate identity and access management (Azure AD, RBAC) into the infrastructure design Ensure least-privilege access to resources and implement multi-factor authentication and role segregation in line with NIST SP 800-53 controls Incorporate government security standards (DISA STIGs, CIS benchmarks) when configuring OS images and network settings Ensure data protections such as encryption at rest/in transit (using Azure Key Vault and SSL/TLS) are in place Plan and implement network connectivity (ExpressRoute or VPN) and cross-domain solutions if needed Link Azure Secret or on-premises environment, carefully managing data flows to maintain compliance with classified network policies Lead technical decision-making and peer reviews for architecture changes Create detailed design documentation and diagrams Guide engineering teams on best practices for cloud resource utilization and cost optimization
