About The Position

Power BI/Fabric Cloud Engineer Enterprise BI Technology (EBIT) team is seeking a Microsoft Fabric / Power BI Cloud Engineer to support the implementation and operationalization of the Power BI Cloud and Microsoft Fabric environment. This role will work closely with the Power BI Technical Lead, Platform Architect, and Administrators to implement architectural standards, configure Fabric workloads, and support early cloud adoption initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI Service and Microsoft Fabric components. Administer and support Microsoft Fabric, ensuring reliable performance, governance, and optimization across the environment. Lead and support the team’s Power BI migration to the cloud, specifically within Microsoft Azure. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment, configuration, and adoption of Power BI cloud services. Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data engineering pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory or Databricks. Ensure data quality, security, and best practices across the cloud data environment.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles
  • Strong background in data engineering platforms and Lakehouse architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure analytics services (Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks)
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise data platforms
  • Strong understanding of: o Lakehouse patterns o Data pipelines and orchestration o Spark-based processing
  • Experience with platform governance, automation, and DevOps practices
  • Proficiency with SQL and data modeling concepts
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Knowledge of Azure services and best practices to assist in the Power BI-to-Azure migration.
  • Practical experience with modern data engineering in Azure.
  • Proficiency with Azure Data Factory and/or Databricks for building and maintaining data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise rollout and operationalization of Microsoft Fabric for data engineering workloads
  • Design and implement Fabric workspace, capacity, and environment strategies
  • Define and maintain platform standards for: o Lakehouse and data architecture o Data pipelines and orchestration o Spark usage and optimization o CI/CD and DevOps practices o Monitoring and operational support
  • Establish and enforce security, governance, and cost-management guardrails
  • Support onboarding of data engineering teams to Fabric
  • Act as platform escalation point for Fabric-related issues and design decisions
  • Collaborate with architects and administrators to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Assist with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational stability
  • Develop and maintain platform documentation, standards, and runbooks
  • Support pilot projects and early adopter teams transitioning to Fabric
