Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Cloud Architect for the following potential opportunity: Lead architecture and design of enterprise cloud solutions, emphasizing AWS GovCloud, to support classified, controlled unclassified, and regulated workloads. Develop high-availability, fault-tolerant, and secure multi-tier architectures using: AWS GovCloud core services (VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, etc.), Container services including Amazon ECS with Fargate, Docker container lifecycle and orchestration patterns, Amazon RDS (Oracle). Script resources in AWS CloudFormation for automated deployment and pipeline integration. Define application modernization strategies leveraging microservices and containerization. Incorporate security requirements into architecture (e.g., IAM least privilege, encryption at rest/in transit, logging/monitoring). Ensure cloud infrastructure complies with government regulations and frameworks such as: FedRAMP Moderate/High, FISMA, DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG) Collaborate with security and DevSecOps teams to implement Continuous Security Validation and automated compliance checks. Translate architecture designs into implementation plans and technical documentation. Define patterns for service discovery, load balancing, scaling, and resilience within container environments. Review design artifacts, code, and technical documentation for quality and best practices. Implement performance monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards. Conduct periodic architecture reviews to optimize cost and performance.
