About The Position

Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract, and currently has several openings for various levels of Cloud Architects across AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading , global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness. Location: These positions will be hybrid remote. Candidates will be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL. Primary Responsibilities : We are seeking highly capable Cloud Architect s with expertise in multiple cloud platforms. A successful individual will be responsible for designing scalable cloud-native solutions, leading development efforts, and ensuring best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security. This is a hands-on technical role that requires rolling up your sleeves to architect, code, debug, and mentor.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and twelve ( 12) years or more of experience; Masters and ten ( 10 ) years or more of experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Must have a Public Trust US citizenship
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2)
  • Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing position
  • Administration experience with cloud-based applications (MS O365, SharePoint, Azure AD, AWS)
  • Experience administering Windows Server, and related services
  • Strong understanding Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML and the standards, procedures, and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with Ansible, AWS console, Elastic, AWS, Azure, Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket and various cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings
  • Experience onboarding customer log-data from cloud platforms to on-premise or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or Splunk

  • Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle clouds

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS and/or Azure
  • Develop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with organization objectives and technical requirements
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on organizational goals
  • Drive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks
  • Optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments
  • Design secure cloud architectures implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirements
  • Implement identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworks
  • Facilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoption
  • Manage and optimize AWS, Azure, Google, and/or Oracle environments, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and SQL systems.
  • Implement and maintain Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole to support DevSecOps practices.
  • Containerize applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency.
  • Support the design and development of Shared Services .
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
  • Establish and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring their performance and reliability.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation to support development and operational processes.
  • Conduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and product management
  • Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementations
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Present architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Mentor, guide and supervise development teams on cloud-native application design and deployment
  • Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisions
