About The Position

As a Cloud and Data Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise cloud and data solutions across AWS (primarily) and potentially other cloud platforms. This role focuses on shaping scalable, secure, and resilient architectures that support modern applications, data platforms, and machine learning operations. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities: You'll work closely with business and technical teams to translate requirements into practical cloud strategies, guide cloud migrations, and define architectural standards. The position also involves building and governing MLOps pipelines, microservices-based systems, and enterprise data platforms while ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud architectures, especially in AWS (Azure knowledge is also valuable)
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect in AWS or Azure environments
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming systems
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Solid background in building and managing MLOps pipelines and machine learning lifecycle processes
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud-native design patterns, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices, IAM, and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to design APIs and large-scale, fault-tolerant systems
  • Experience working with a variety of database technologies (relational and non-relational)
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, and performance tuning in cloud environments
  • Comfortable working across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making
