Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field, from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed or Limited license in social work or counseling
  • Ability to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic forms.
  • Ability to work constructively with supervisor and staff.
  • Ability to learn how to utilize technology through computer and phone apps.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with client, employee and organization information.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team in achieving common goals.
  • Ability to work constructively with staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context.
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions of a complex organization.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of clinical experience working with SUD clientele preferred
  • Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team preferred
  • Minimum one year SUD counseling experience preferred.
  • Minimum Experience working on a team preferred.
  • Familiarity with SUD documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a person-centered treatment plan that focuses on addressing the needs of the client to include family engagement when applicable.
  • Coordinate care for the client with family and other involved individuals, i.e. school personnel, probation officer, mentor, DHHS, medical personnel, etc.
  • Provide individual, family therapy, and case management, as needed to each client/family on his/her caseload.
  • Market and network with community partners and current/potential referral sources. Examples of this include but are not limited to attending community collaborative meetings, distributing marketing material, providing a description of services provided.
  • Complete all service plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and all other necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Represent Samaritas mission and vision with community partners.
  • Exercise excellence and integrity as the job requirements are fulfilled.
  • Monitor the quality of overall treatment services to clients on his/her caseload; and evaluate the adequacy of these services to meet treatment objectives.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings, therapist meetings, and any others as deemed necessary by the SUD Leadership.
  • Represent Samaritas mission and vision with community partners.
  • Exercise excellence and integrity as the job requirements are fulfilled.
  • Possess a working knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards and work to assure compliance with such standards.
  • Utilize educational opportunities and resources offered by the agency and through the profession for continued development of skills and clinical expertise, (conferences, trainings, peer supervision)
  • Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee's roles and functions.
