Position Summary As an integral member of both the Professional Services and Pharmacy Growth Departments, you will collaborate cross-functionally to provide veterinary clinical support and research towards strategic initiative planning while striving to ensure that the highest standards of pharmaceutical care is delivered to patients across 9,000+ community pharmacy locations. In this role, you will provide veterinary expertise to support clinical services that differentiate our business from our competitors and help ensure the patient care programs/initiatives offered are evidence-based, remain current, and promote patient safety while driving incremental growth. Due to the specialized nature of the initiatives, the ideal candidate for this role is a licensed professional in Veterinary Medicine, who will be able to provide specific guidance around building programs and initiatives related to prescribing common pet medications with a focus on veterinary pharmacology and clinical considerations. Primary roles & responsibilities Provide relevant clinical guidance in the design and implementation of veterinary pharmacy programs, products, and services; manage and execute various creating, editing, reviewing, and research activities in collaboration with other business teams Manage & support relationships with external vendor(s) that provide clinical or continuing educational needs for our 9,000+ retail pharmacy locations Leverage primary literature, tertiary-resources, clinical trial data and published guidelines to create and/or engage in veterinary clinical recommendations for the Enterprise, largely the retail business Support business teams for veterinary clinical topics and ensure recommendations remain accurate, consistent, and current. This clinician shall remain acutely aware of pertinent veterinary pharmacology/product updates and announcements and implement changes in a timely manner to ensure CVS Health can continue to be a healthcare entity that patients and payers can rely upon. Collaborate with clinical pharmacists on the Retail Clinical team to ensure efforts/reviews are coordinated and remain consistent year over year. Drive regulatory insights, market intelligence, and strategic partnerships to strengthen CVS’s position in animal health. Develop and lead the strategic approach for the organization’s presence at industry conferences and events, including providing recommendations to optimize visibility, engagement, and influence The ideal candidate should exhibit strong veterinary clinical and collaboration skills as well as analytical and communication skills. The individual must be able to locate and interpret adequate veterinary clinical resources and references and format them into clinically responsible and accurate recommendations leveraged throughout the Enterprise.

Requirements

  • DVM required
  • 5+ years experience demonstrating strong veterinary clinical knowledge and ability to make evidence-based recommendations.
  • 5+ years experience demonstrating ability for independent judgment, initiative, and confidence to share expert opinions.
  • 5+ years experience engaging and inspiring teams to achieve both short-term, and long-term goals
  • Travel requirements – up to 10% travel expected, and as required by the business
