About The Position

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Full-time Clinical Trainer. The Clinical Trainer is responsible for enhancing the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will boost employees’ workplace performance in alliance with company’s core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, training, HR, or related field in healthcare (a combination of education and training preferred).
  • Certified CPR and Handle with Care Instructor preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Product suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the ability to learn and adapt to new software.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses of clinical staff and facilitate training.
  • Translates requirements into trainings which will prepare employees for the next step in their professional development.
  • Develop and/or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, and manuals as needed.
  • Direct structured learning experiences and monitor class participation and understanding.
  • Acclimate new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions that are supportive of the culture of Service Excellence.
  • Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior.
  • Build annual training programs and prepare teaching plans as needed.
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes.
