About The Position

The Clinical Trainer and Development Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring consistent, high-quality training across all Behavioral Innovations centers. This position focuses on onboarding, mentoring, and developing new Clinical Trainers, helping them deliver effective, standardized training for RBTs and Therapists. The Specialist collaborates closely with the Senior Coordinator of Clinical Training and Center Leadership to evaluate trainer readiness, promote clinical excellence, and uphold BI’s training and competency standards. This position will report to the Sr. Coordinator of Clinical Training.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (required)
  • Minimum 3 years with Behavioral Innovations
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Clinical Trainer, Clinical Operations Manager, or similar leadership/training role
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of ABA principles, BI’s clinical standards, and RBT competencies
  • Experience developing or delivering structured training programs

Responsibilities

  • Deliver onboarding and field-based training for new Clinical Trainers.
  • Provide hands-on coaching, mentorship, and feedback during the first 90 days.
  • Conduct structured competency assessments and communicate progress updates.
  • Develop individualized support plans to strengthen trainer performance.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to BI’s clinical and training standards.
  • Track engagement, skill development, and training milestones through BI systems.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Directors and Center Leadership to align training with center needs.
  • Contribute to improving training materials and processes for continuous development.
  • Uphold BI’s mission and values through all training interactions
  • Exhibit independence, accountability, and professionalism
  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain a learner-focused coaching style
  • Flexibility to travel to centers or conduct virtual training as needed
