About The Position

As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, Texas A&M Health encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. The Clinical Teaching Assistant works under the supervision of a Master’s or Doctorally prepared nursing faculty member primarily in the clinical setting. Assists nursing faculty with the supervision of students during clinical learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • One year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical hospital setting
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in Texas
  • Clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with other
  • Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Recent/current experience in acute care, med/surg

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Students
  • Functions in the role of clinical supervisor.
  • Assists faculty with the supervision of students’ skills performance, student evaluation, and other aspects of student learning in the clinical setting.
  • Clinical Setting
  • Consults with a nursing faculty member in clinical settings.
  • May provide occasional classroom assistance for activities.
