About The Position

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. We offer major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support TMC's role as a regional specialty center. Assume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. The concepts of patient centered care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrate professionalism and service excellence standards at all times. Relieving staff for lunch and ensure staff is clocking out/in, Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors in Postpartum to facilitate moving patients in a timely manner, lead Safety Huddle at shift change, let Manager know of supplies needed, broken equipment, etc., place staff on call as appropriate, help with annual evaluations, keep a positive attitude, and attend Unit Meetings. Assists the Director in the planning, organizing, and supervising of Women's unit functions. Ensures service excellence development and personnel management. Coordinates hospital-wide compliance with state and federal regulations. Assist with implementation and accreditation of Maternal Designation. Maintain policy and procedure review and revision. The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice. Requirements

  • Per RN licensure requirement, BSN preferred
  • Two years of experience working within all areas of the Women's Services.
  • Must maintain all clinical competencies for area of supervision.
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Texas, or compact.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
  • Must maintain all proficiencies required by area of supervision.
  • Must be clinically competent in area of population served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Must possess basic computer application skills.

Nice To Haves

  • National certification in area of supervision preferred (i.e.CCRN, PCCN, etc.)
