About The Position

The Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the clinical coordinator in executing and processing the administrative and clerical duties of the program. This individual will also be responsible for assisting in the clinical review of charts, assisting in staff development and training, and acting as a liaison between the coordinator, the team, and the public.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited College or University with at least a BS/BA degree in a human service field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in the Behavioral Health Care Field.
  • Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Must have a valid Florida Drivers License.
  • Ability to take and transcribe dictation and minutes at a high rate of accuracy.
  • Understands DSM-IV terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Functional use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Intergy.
  • Familiar with standard Medicaid reimbursement rates and requirements for Behavioral Health Services.
  • Working knowledge of Managed Care Organizations currently utilized in Behavioral Health Care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative, clinical and programmatic support to the program coordinator.
  • Assists the Coordinator to ensure that patients meet requirements to be assigned to specific programs.
  • Assists the Coordinator to ensure that policies and Procedures are followed in assigned service area/s.
  • Assists the Coordinator to orientation and training to staff.
  • Assists the Coordinator to analyze and submit statistical reports on a weekly basis and/or as requested.
  • Assists the Coordinator to ensure that the service area maintains practice standards.
  • Assists the Coordinator to ensure staff’s participation in required education program and appropriate orientation and training.
  • Assists the coordinator in the allocation of staff to assigned area/s in order to ensure effective coordination of cases.
  • Provides the Coordinator with regularly established briefings on all findings.
  • Assists the Coordinator in the assignment of referrals to staff members in respective service areas.
  • Assists the coordinator to ensure weekly congruence between productivity and documentation rendered.
  • Assists the Coordinator to ensure participant demographic and contact information is accurate.
  • Assists coordinator to monitor staff productivity.
  • Establishes relationships with other agencies in order to obtain patient referrals.
  • Maintains daily staff productivity reports through the use of Intergy report writing tools.
  • Is familiar with standard Medicaid reimbursement rates and requirements for Behavioral Health Services.
  • Prepares prior authorization to submit to managed care for approval prior to patient assignment.
  • Assist the Coordinator to review documentation.
  • Assists the Coordinator to complete daily monitoring of staff productivity through report writing.
  • Assists the Coordinator to monitor providers caseload ratio as established in Florida Laws and Rules.
  • Assists the Coordinator to track staff’s compliance with service delivery ensuring all active clients assigned to their caseload receive appropriate follow up.
  • Develops a working knowledge of Managed Care Organizations currently utilized in Behavioral Health Care.
  • Provides services in a sensitivity non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner to a diverse population.
  • Monitor’s staffs caseload and patient assignment and ensures that staff maintain workload based on agency guideline’s.
  • Prepares correspondence for coordinator, reviews correspondence, and screens and routes phone calls.
  • Conducts and maintains inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Attends required meetings as assigned by coordinator.
  • Maintains schedule of monthly department committee meeting’s and scheduled staff supervision.
  • Assists in the coordination of managed care issues to facilitate cost efficient quality patient care.
  • Functional use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Intergy.
  • Maintains flexibility in regard to expected or unexpected changes in the work environment.
  • Communicates and solves problems through the proper chain of command.
  • Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
  • Complies with CHI’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance program.
  • All other duties as assigned.
