About The Position

Clinical Support Analysts are involved in installing and developing hospital information systems. Their job is to perform system upgrades and provide system maintenance when required. Clinical Support Analysts must have advanced knowledge of hospital purchased software and supervise staff and maintain hospital information confidentiality. Clinical Support Analysts develop policies and create training tools for hospital information systems uses. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science of healthcare administration.
  • Two+ years of clinical experience.
  • Two+ years’ experience in intra/interdepartmental communication.
  • Project management skills.
  • Problem-solving analysis skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in health informatics preferred.
  • Clinical degree in medical technology, nursing, pharmacy, physician’s assisting, or another health-related degree.
  • CPHIMS/CAHIMS certification preferred.
  • BLS Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between clinical departments, vendors, and the IT department to support clinical applications, workflows, and issue resolution.
  • Provide day-to-day support for hospital and clinic clinical systems, including troubleshooting, analysis, escalation, and follow-up on application-related issues.
  • Analyze user needs, workflow challenges, and system problems; recommend and support improvements that enhance patient care, efficiency, and documentation quality.
  • Assist with system configuration, testing, validation, implementation, and support for upgrades, new functionality, interfaces, and workflow changes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including test plans, user guides, workflow instructions, downtime materials, and training resources.
  • Deliver end-user education, in-service training, and ongoing support to promote effective and consistent use of clinical systems.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, operational leaders, and vendors to evaluate requests, prioritize needs, and support implementation of approved changes.
  • Monitor recurring issues and trends, identify root causes where possible, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Support downtime preparedness and recovery activities for clinical applications to help maintain continuity of care.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with clinical areas to support adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement of systems used in patient care.
  • Ensure supported activities follow hospital policies, confidentiality requirements, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in internal meetings, user groups, project teams, and on-call support as assigned.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical technologies, healthcare application practices, and industry trends through education and professional development.
