About The Position

The Part Time Clinical & Supplier Support – Government National Accounts role provides clinical expertise and therapeutic insight to support the Government National Accounts team, with a primary focus on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other federal healthcare agencies. This position serves as a clinical subject matter resource to help assess products coming to market, inform supplier discussions, and support internal alignment related to VA programs, contracts, and initiatives. The role partners with Health Systems National Accounts, Product Management, Supplier Relations, and Operations teams to evaluate clinical appropriateness, therapeutic alternatives, and product considerations relevant to government customers. By translating clinical knowledge into clear, actionable insights, this position supports supplier negotiations, assists with compliant product onboarding, and helps ensure McKesson is well positioned to meet the evolving needs of VA and federal healthcare providers. This is an individual contributor role designed to augment existing Government National Accounts capabilities as new therapies, generics, biosimilars, and specialty products enter the market.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and therapeutic expertise to evaluate products entering the market (brand, generic, biosimilar, and specialty) relevant to VA and federal healthcare customers, informing product assessments and internal recommendations.
  • Support supplier discussions and Government National Accounts strategy by providing clinical context that informs positioning, negotiations, and decision making related to VA programs and contracts.
  • Assess clinical suitability, therapeutic alternatives, and patient impact within the VA healthcare environment to support sound product and program decisions.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Health Systems National Accounts, Product Management, Supplier Relations, Operations, and Compliance to ensure aligned, informed approaches to VA initiatives and supplier engagement.
  • Prepare internal clinical and market insights by summarizing therapeutic considerations, market dynamics, and emerging trends to support VA related discussions and planning.
  • Support compliant onboarding and transitions of new products by identifying clinical considerations that may impact VA utilization or adoption, while adhering to McKesson policies and contractual requirements.
