Clinical Supervisor Maine Crisis Line (MCL) (Remote Optional – In Maine) The Maine Crisis Line is part of our continuum of crisis intervention and stabilization services, providing 24/7 telephone, text, and chat support for adults, youth, and families experiencing a mental health crisis. Trained crisis support specialists offer free, confidential emotional support, stabilization, and connection to next‑step resources. We’re looking for a Clinical Supervisor who is passionate about real‑time clinical work, enjoys supporting staff through dynamic and meaningful situations, and thrives as part of a highly collaborative team. What the Clinical Supervisor Does Provides real‑time clinical support to Crisis Support Specialists during incoming calls, texts, and chats. Offers in‑the‑moment and follow‑up clinical consultation , case review, and administrative support to guide high‑quality service delivery. Assists with assessing and triaging client needs , ensuring appropriate referrals and safe, effective crisis intervention. Acts as a clinical resource regarding suicide risk, mental health, substance use, safety planning, and care coordination. Supports smooth operations during active hours by helping staff navigate fast‑paced and diverse clinical situations with confidence. Works closely with statewide Crisis Response Services to support continuity of care for individuals and families. We’re seeking clinicians who think creatively, adapt quickly, and bring both empathy and solid clinical judgment to the work. The ideal candidate is a team player who can balance independent decision‑making with collaborative leadership. Schedule This is a full‑time, 40‑hour/week, hourly position. Primary schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 PM–3:30 AM ( evening into overnight ), plus a weekly 2‑hour paid leadership meeting. These later‑day hours tend to be active and engaging, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in real time. You’ll be part of a supportive, steady team that works closely together and shows up for one another during even the busiest moments. Location Remote optional – in Maine. This role can be performed anywhere in Maine or from our South Portland office. Qualifications Master’s Degree in social work or a related field required. Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor preferred; Minimal of Clinical Conditional required. MHRT-CSP certification or ability to achieve within 30 days of employment required. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and occasional overnights required. 1-3 years of supervisory experience in the field of Social Work, preferred. Contact Center experience preferred but not required – training will be provided. This position is fully remote, requiring a dedicated workspace that is quiet and free from distractions. The employee must have reliable high-speed internet access and appropriate equipment, including a computer, headset, and phone. The workspace should be ergonomically set up to ensure comfort and productivity. Regular communication with the team and supervisors will be maintained through virtual meetings, email, and messaging platforms. The employee is expected to adhere to data security and privacy guidelines to protect sensitive information. Experience in clinical psychiatric assessment of patients and ability to document assessments in a concise and comprehensive manner acquired in internship or prior employment preferred. Ability to make clinical decisions autonomously. Must possess and be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Special skill areas: technical literacy, comprehensive knowledge of DSM-V, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated team effectiveness and consensus building. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check. Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list. Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds. Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings but is not a primary and essential job responsibility.
