About The Position

You will provide clinical oversight and day-to-day operational leadership for the program by planning, organizing, staffing, and directing client care; facilitate clinical case staffing and team meetings; coordinate transitions of care and external partnerships; monitor service delivery, documentation, and quality indicators; and provide direct clinical services (intakes, individual, family, group) as program needs require. You will promote integration of clinical, community support, and physical healthcare services while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and supporting staff development through supervision, training, and performance coaching. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related field with at least three (3) years professional experience in substance use disorder treatment and one (1) year supervisory experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related field with at least four (4) years professional experience in substance use disorder treatment and two (2) years supervisory experience; AND Qualified Addiction Professional (Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc. or applicable State Board) with four (4) years professional experience and three (3) years supervisory experience; OR counselor, psychologist, or physician licensed in Missouri with at least one (1) year SUD treatment experience and one (1) year supervisory experience. Alternate qualifying mental health professional credentials accepted as described (physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, professional counselor, clinical social worker, or master’s/doctorate with practicum or one year supervised experience).
  • Successful completion of background checks (criminal, driving record, abuse/neglect, fingerprint).
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance; obtain driver’s license in state of residency.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within three months of hire and maintained upon renewal.
  • Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment (CPI for Residential; Crisis Management on Relias or Verbal De-escalation for Outpatient).
  • Complete New Hire Orientation and required Relias training at hire and annually.
  • Achievement of thirty-six (36) hour training requirements within 2-year period per 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1.
  • Maintain annual licenses/certifications required for counseling duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; skilled in supervision, training, and clinical best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the clinical team—provide supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate weekly clinical case staffing, team, and diagnostic disposition meetings; implement recommendations from committees and client feedback.
  • Deliver direct clinical services (intakes, individual, family, group therapy) to meet required contact hours.
  • Oversee service delivery: verify frequency, intensity, and clinical justification of services and monitor team members’ direct service hours.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly record reviews to maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance; address deficiencies and ensure corrective action.
  • Coordinate transition planning and referrals; collaborate with outside agencies for comprehensive client-centered care.
  • Develop and adjust program schedules to meet client needs while protecting client rights.
  • Manage staff scheduling, approve time off, arrange substitute coverage, and ensure licensing-required coverage; follow up on after-hours crisis calls.
  • Review progress notes and maintain required documentation, privileging, and credentialing records.
  • Support budget adherence by reviewing service delivery plans, monitoring expenditures, and assisting with quarterly fiscal projections.
  • Lead quality management initiatives: develop QM measurement systems, participate in QM meetings, and assist with quarterly reporting.
  • Oversee environmental safety and coordinate with operations on cleanliness, vehicles, and food services.
  • Respond to crises and ensure incident reporting per policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Director, Vice President, or Executive Team.
