About The Position

Position Summary Phoenix Children's is hiring a Clinical Supervisor for the Outpatient OR unit that is located at our Thomas Campus. Incumbent will have a min of 2 years experience working in an busy Operating Room, as well as 1 year leadership experience. Must be AORN certified or obtain within first year of employment. This role is M - F, and we will offer a 4/10 hour schedule. NO weekends/holidays/call!! You will be responsible for 45 employees, (RN's, Surgery Techs, Endoscopy Techs, Patient Care Techs and Service Support Techs), who support the OR, and Endoscopy You will be one of three Clinical Supervisors who support the outpatient OR and Endoscopy unit. Our ideal candidate will not only have the technical skills, but also be passionate about the mission at Phoenix Children's. The Nursing Services Supervisor coordinates shift operational flow in conjunction with organizational and departmental strategic goals, objectives, and standards and is the hospital's clinical representative/resource for patients, families, and the healthcare team, at both the unit and organization levels. This position provides clinical leadership of patient care services and directs supervision of nursing and support staff to ensure consistent provision of developmentally appropriate quality patient care in accordance with all applicable federal, regulatory, professional standards and requirements. Provides clinical leadership with accountability in promoting quality patient care and an engaging work environment, during assigned shift. Education Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (Required) Bachelor's Degree or higher in Healthcare related field. (Preferred)

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of nursing experience OR demonstrated competence in bedside nursing role. (Required)
  • One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience. (Preferred)
  • Current Arizona RN license or RN Compact license with multistate privileges, and in compliance with the Arizona State Board of Nursing licensure requirements. (Required)
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association prior to start date. (Required)
  • Current PEARS, PALS, or NRP certification from the American Heart Association OR must be obtained within 9 months of hire. (Required)
  • Current and valid nursing certification in clinical nursing expertise OR must be able to obtain within one year of eligibility. (Required)
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience with pediatric patient populations. (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Healthcare related field. (Preferred)
