Clinical Supervisor-Dental Hygiene
About The Position
Tennessee State University College of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Clinical Supervisor-Dental Hygiene. The ideal candidate will serve as a member of the academic team and work closely with all members of the academic team, students, supervisory dentist, and other members of the administrative team to transfer curricular knowledge to student dental hygienists. General Function: This position is responsible for supervising student clinicians and serves as part of a clinical/teaching team that provides instruction and supervision for dental hygiene students through their pre-clinical and clinical experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene
- State of Tennessee license to practice Dental Hygiene in good standing
- At least three (3) years of "clinical practice" experience
Nice To Haves
- University or Community College teaching experience from a ADA / CODA accredited dental hygiene program preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provides focused clinical instruction and supervision to dental hygiene students in the principles of dental hygiene practice at the freshman and sophomore levels.
- Conducts evaluation of performance skill and competency assessments using current management technology.
- Contributes to team development of clinical syllabi and evaluation procedures.
- Provides clinical advisement for enrolled students when needed.
- Submits final clinical grades for students enrolled in clinical sections.
- Attends faculty meetings as scheduled.
- Develops evidence-based clinical research (scholarly work) in conjunction with clinical teaching.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
