Under the general supervision of the Burn Unit Manager and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the primary clinician’s duties include, but are not limited to, crisis intervention, psychosocial patient assessments and interventions, mandated reporting, information and referral, discharge planning, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. Works in concert with physicians, nurses, utilization management, discharge planners, and other allied health professionals. Assists patients with addressing and resolving the social, financial, and psychological problems related to their health condition and facilitates the patient movement through the health continuum. This position focuses on removing barriers to care for patients under the care of the Saint Francis Burn Intensive Care Unit, especially patients with high level of social determinants of health need. The primary clinician will need to have specialty in working with complex medical conditions, especially highly impactful injuries from burn, behavioral health conditions, substance use, and varying levels of health literacy, and be able to connect patients to follow-up care for post acute medical management as well as community supports in a variety of geographic locations around the state. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $42.02 - $72.51 (Hourly Rate).
