About The Position

Under the supervision of the Citywide Focus Cross Currents Program Director, the incumbent provides continuous, comprehensive mental health services including crisis intervention, outreach, therapy and case management to a caseload of severely mentally ill adults who are high users of psychiatric mental health services, often with concurrent substance abuse and/or health problems. The Cross Currents team focuses on Women, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender and HIV positive clients. The clinician assesses for presenting problems, obtains psychosocial history, conducts mental status examination and completes comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and diagnoses using the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM-V); conducts crisis assessment and intervention including 5150 holds; creates treatment plans; participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team; act as liaison to inpatient units and other service providers to facilitate referrals and service/treatment; maintains client records utilizing EPIC EHR according to California, City and County requirements; maintains master-level requirements; attends staff meetings and participates in required training sessions, other duties as assigned. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $40.62 - $54.41 (Step Hourly Rate). Requirements

Masters degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university and registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as An Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) or Intern Marriage Family Therapist (IMFT).
Two years working with severely mentally ill adults, the homeless and dual diagnosed populations
One year experience doing community based case management and the ability to do outreach including to SRO hotels
One year experience working with women, Gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender clients or people with HIV
Case Management experience
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to work in a high stress, high volume area and work well under pressure and with deadlines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately, and be detailed oriented.
Able to efficiently prepare written summaries of activities, set priorities and complete reports within required timeframes.
Knowledge of medical and/or psychiatric terminology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting
Able to lift 50lbs and climb stairs
Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
A preliminary job offer and assignment may be extended pending successful background clearance.
An understanding of mental health issues and sensitivity toward mental health clients
Ability to work with clients and program staff from diverse cultural and social class backgrounds
Registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences
