About The Position

The Clinical and Simulation Coordinator is a vital member of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education team, responsible for facilitating education through medical simulation through high-quality, immersive learning experiences that reinforce paramedic theory, clinical skills, and professional readiness across Paramedic levels. This role integrates clinical education and simulation coordination, technical operations, and inventory management to ensure students are competent as entry-level EMS providers. Additionally, this role will perform clinical coordinating responsibilities to ensure essential clinical placements that contribute to obtaining required portfolio competencies for graduation. This role will also need to become familiar with the curriculum, student learning outcomes, and the program’s evaluation processes (of assessing student performance).

Requirements

  • Post-secondary or industry relevant licensure in Paramedics
  • One (1) year of teaching/tutoring experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the high school level or above
  • Four (4) years of work experience in Paramedics where no degree /certificate/diploma/licensure is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Current post-secondary or industry certification/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in EMS, as well as American Heart Association CPR certification.
  • State of Minnesota EMSRB and National Registry certification
  • EMS instructor certification (DOT or NAEMSE) or equivalent
  • Experience with virtual and physical simulation
  • Mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, technology skills, innovative skills.
  • Strong human relation skills sufficient to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, and co-workers.
  • Ability to cope with technical problems and resolve disruptions to emergency skill procedures.
  • Being responsive, firm, and equitable in serving the College population.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Education Coordination – Support the program director in planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical education experiences.
  • Simulation Coordination – Support the faculty in coordinating and managing the simulation lab calendar to support course schedules.
  • Technical Operations & Maintenance – Program, operate, and troubleshoot human patient simulators and related simulation technologies.
  • Supply & Inventory Management – Maintain and organize emergency skills equipment and supplies by supervising the set-up of the lab.
