About The Position

As a Clinical Services Manager for Pediatric Case Management at Pine Rest, you’ll be responsible for providing leadership and clinical supervision to the Pediatric Case Management team within the Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health. This role is responsible for the administration, coordination, and oversight of case management services that support children and adolescents receiving inpatient and residential psychiatric care. Working within the organization’s management philosophy, the Clinical Services Manager ensures that pediatric patients and their families experience high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered care. The role collaborates closely with interdisciplinary pediatric treatment teams, caregivers, schools, community providers, and regulatory agencies to support safe, timely, and effective transitions of care. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric behavioral health systems, child and adolescent psychiatric treatment, and the unique needs of families navigating mental health services. The Clinical Services Manager must demonstrate excellent customer service and have enthusiasm about the program and the Pine Rest organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in the field of Social Work or Psychology with current licensure at most advanced level for that discipline.
  • Approximately five years of progressively more responsible related work experience in the area assigned in order to gain full knowledge of related systems and management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of Pediatric Case Management to support quality outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provides direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and clinical guidance to pediatric case management staff.
  • Responsible for hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions, including termination, in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Ensures case management services are aligned with best practices in pediatric psychiatric care and child development.
  • Monitors staffing patterns for Pediatric Case Management services seven days per week and ensures appropriate coverage to meet patient and family needs.
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets, monitoring variances and practicing fiscal stewardship.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of case management documentation, discharge planning, and utilization processes specific to pediatric psychiatric care.
  • Maintains knowledge of Social Work and Psychology standards of practice as they apply to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Leads initiatives to improve family engagement, communication, and customer service within pediatric services.
  • Collaborates with pediatric psychiatrists, therapists, nursing leadership, educators, and allied health professionals to support comprehensive treatment planning.
  • Partners with community agencies, schools, child-serving systems, and outpatient providers to facilitate smooth transitions of care for pediatric patients.
  • Supports compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards specific to pediatric behavioral health services.
  • Participates in organizational and pediatric-focused committees, contributing to program development and process improvement.
  • Communicates expectations, outcomes, and policy changes clearly to staff, particularly during times of change or high acuity.
  • Develops and monitors performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing outcomes for pediatric psychiatric patients.
  • Uses data, outcome measures, and quality indicators to guide decision-making and improve care delivery.
  • Promotes staff development, ensuring required training and pediatric competencies are current and maintained.
  • Functions as a change leader by identifying opportunities to improve pediatric case management workflows, processes, and care coordination.
  • Supports marketing and outreach efforts related to pediatric behavioral health services, as appropriate.
  • Responsible to role model the mission and values of the organization, presenting a professional image that is projected in appearance, attitudes and behaviors, time management and communication skills.
  • Provides spiritual, emotional, social, mental and physical support to patients.
  • Supervises Pediatric Case Management Department staff
