The Clinical Respiratory Specialist practices at the level of a proficient-to-expert practitioner of respiratory care. The Clinical Respiratory Specialist demonstrates expertise in caring for patients with multiple and complex problems. In addition to demonstrating clinical leadership, the Clinical Respiratory Specialist serves as a resource and consultant to staff and participates in endeavors to increase respiratory care knowledge.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Enrollment Required
  • At least five (5) years experience in the field of respiratory care. Required
  • At least three (3) years experience in the care of neonatal/pediatric patients. Required
  • Ability to provide basic respiratory care to children.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
  • Osteopathic Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Required and
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (RRT-NPS) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Required and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - upon hire - Required
