About The Position

The Human Motion Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Clinical Research Specialist A/B position. The candidate will work closely with Penn Medicine research faculty and clinicians to recruit and consent participants into research studies, collect human subjects research data, manage human subjects regulatory documents, and perform other tasks. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain organized notes is essential. Experience with IRB protocols, clinical research, and patient recruitment is highly desired. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as interacting with patients and clinicians is a regular part of this position. This mid-level position will be responsible for the ‘A’ position duties in addition to more advanced responsibilities. These responsibilities include managing lab members, onboarding and training new staff and trainees, provide research updates to clinical collaborators, and assist in preparing grants and manuscripts.

Requirements

Clinical Research Coordinator A: Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Clinical Research Coordinator B: Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain organized notes is essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as interacting with patients and clinicians is a regular part of this position.

Nice To Haves

Experience with IRB protocols, clinical research, and patient recruitment is highly desired.
Experience with biomechanical data collection, scientific computing, and clinical research are desired but not required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and conduct clinical studies, includes; subject recruitment, informed consent, chart maintenance and data entry
Coordinate IRB submissions and renewals in accordance with FDA and IRB guidelines
Assure compliance with the protocol and regulatory requirements includes: collecting, recording, and maintaining data and source documentations.
Oversee study preparation and blood sample processing and analysis
Database management and analysis
Ordering and stocking supplies, maintaining equipment
Educate patients and family members
Promote good clinical practice in the conduct of clinical investigations, included possessing an in-depth knowledge of the federal regulations and guidance documents for the conduct of clinical studies and human subject protection
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Managing lab members
Onboarding and training new staff and trainees
Provide research updates to clinical collaborators
Assist in preparing grants and manuscripts
