About The Position

The Internship Program with Ascension is designed to provide an on-the-job learning opportunity aimed at gaining "real world" work experience in a large healthcare environment, supporting leadership with data driven insights that deliver value to those we serve. Ascension’s objective is to provide a working and learning environment where interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful professionals and potential Ascension associates. The intern will work in the Clinical Research Analytics team, within the Clinical and Population Health Analytics team in the Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI). What You Will Do As a Clinical Research Analytics Intern you will have the opportunity to participate in projects related to clinical trials support and operations. You will acquire relevant data from publicly available websites such as ClinicalTrials.gov; you will cleanse, organize and model/analyze such data and apply advanced AI assisted methods to develop a dashboard and reports to generate strategic and operational insights that support the growth of clinical trials and enhance research initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Public Health, Operations Research, Data Science, Engineering, Technology degree, and/or a related technical field.
High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Responsibilities

Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Understand how to work with APIs.
Understand database schemas, data flow diagrams, and data specifications.
Understand source systems and the common business and technical keys.
Translate functional requirements to technical specifications.
Review and evaluate developed data output to ensure it conforms to business and technical requirements.
Translate technical issues for product owners and functional stakeholders.
Resolve differences between conflicting functional requirements by championing communication and vetting needs warranted for overall needs.
