About The Position

The Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to ensure that every pregnant and postpartum person, infant, and their families in Colorado receive safe, equitable, and high-quality care. CPCQC partners with hospitals, community-based organizations, families, and national collaborators to advance best practices, reduce disparities, and improve maternal and infant health outcomes. The Quality Improvement (QI) Advisor serves as a primary improvement partner to hospital teams participating in CPCQC initiatives. The QI Advisor provides coaching, facilitation, technical assistance, and data-informed guidance to support implementation of evidence-based, equity-centered quality improvement work across maternal and infant health initiatives statewide. This role works closely with Program Managers, the Data & Analytics Team, and other QI Advisors and reports to the Deputy Director of Quality Improvement.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience leading or supporting clinical or public health quality improvement initiatives.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in maternal-child health or a related healthcare setting (e.g., RN, CNM, NP, MD, case manager).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare quality improvement methodologies and ability to apply them in practice.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and complying with HIPAA and data security requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MPH, MSN), doctorate (DNP), or clinical professional degree.
  • Experience with the IHI Breakthrough Series model (or willingness to complete training within 6 months of hire).
  • Experience with electronic medical records and equity-focused improvement work.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary QI advisor and point of contact for assigned hospital teams.
  • Plan and facilitate quarterly 1:1 QI advising meetings, including agenda preparation and follow-up.
  • Coach hospital teams in applying QI methods (e.g., SMART aims, key driver diagrams, PDSA cycles, 30–60–90 day plans).
  • Review monthly data submissions and PDSA documentation; support interpretation of run charts, control charts, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the Data Team to improve data quality and support use of race, ethnicity, and language data to identify and address inequities.
  • Prepare and present QI content at monthly hospital initiative meetings, collaborative learning sessions, workshops, and webinars.
  • Participate in on-site hospital visits as needed to support relationship-building and improvement work.
  • Contribute to grant reporting, documentation of progress, and dissemination of QI work (e.g., abstracts, posters, presentations).
  • Coordinate with other QI Advisors to ensure alignment and consistency across initiatives.
