About The Position

About the Position: This position is within the Behavioral Health - Mental Health Service Directorate located at Naval Hospital, Bremerton, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
  • This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position is a Drug Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • This position requires credentialing. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to meet credentialing requirements.
  • This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
  • A valid state license as a psychologist is required.
  • Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
  • Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
