About The Position

Manages, facilitates, and maintains clinical initiatives/projects related to practice, business development, research and education, to include strategy, design, planning, procurement, development, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for leading and facilitating significant change intended to improve clinical efficiency and promote service line growth, expansion, and market differentiation. Acts as a liaison with other clinical departments to ensure interdisciplinary and interprofessional support and adoption of new strategic services and programs. Responsible for budget preparation and project scheduling in coordination with all stakeholders across service lines. Provides innovative leadership and supervision to initiatives/projects in support of community based services. Acts as liaison across interdisciplinary teams potentially within and beyond Carilion to achieve beneficial impact. Offer clinical consultation and manage “go-live” projects while consulting with front line clinical staff. Establishes and maintains continuous communications with all project stakeholders to ensure thorough needs assessment, evaluation and prioritization of efforts. Develops strategic relationships and partnerships in support of the initiative/project. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely communication with clients, team members and Carilion leadership throughout life of each initiative/project. Develops, implements and updates action plans and processes for community-based services, from inception to completion, including scope, definition, planning, tracking, and course correction, as well as evaluation of outcomes and effectiveness. Owns the life cycle of all assigned projects. Researches and prepares operating and capital budget for projects. Monitors expenses to stay within approved budgets. Course corrects projects as needed to ensure the financial and operating integrity of the service line. Identifies and resolves problems, exercises judgment, makes decisions, handles difficult situations, within scope of authority and established policy/procedure. Prioritizes projects and work assignments based on needs and goals of the organization. Collects, aggregates, and interprets data to support project work and proposed initiative. Directs, motivates and counsels team members as appropriate. Provides local direct leadership on an as needed basis. Assists with plans and coordination of special education for the service line and other stakeholders. Provides consultative support to operations leaders to improve efficiency and/or optimize regulatory compliance. Communicates regularly with clinical leadership, management, administrative personnel and other internal staff, as well as external organizations, patients, families, physicians and other service agencies/stakeholders. Planning and execution is driven by Carilion strategies, with accountability for achievement of organizational and service line goals and objectives. Performs work in a home health/hospice environment. Appropriate protective measures are required in accordance with Employee Safety Codes. Potential exposure to hazardous materials. Fast-paced work environment with extreme intensity level. Frequent travel between Carilion sites for which own transportation must be provided.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent 4 years' experience required; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience or recent demonstrated success of a multi-department leadership project/initiative.
  • Must satisfactorily complete orientation processes.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish relationships through strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet management, and data analysis.
