About The Position

Practice Coordinator (PC) is a clerical or clinical associate who coordinates day to day activities needed to assist the patient in the clinic. PC’s will assist with increasing continuity of care by managing relationships with providers, transitions, and referrals. Will promote timely access to appropriate care and connect patients with community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily process, overall functions and workflow within the clinic location.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of operational plans.
  • Assist with evaluating workflow and implementing changes as directed.
  • Ensure daily huddles are performed.
  • Encourages team work and collaboration of all employees in the clinic location by demonstrating behaviors, leadership capabilities and effective communication.
  • Serves as a key contact with Ancillary departments as needed.
  • Promotes an environment for open communication and collaborative practice with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Maintains professional behavior when working with colleagues, patients, visitors, physicians and management.
  • Assist patients via phone for triage, voicemail, messages, pharmacy refills/prior auths, etc.
  • Assist with scheduling follow up, routine, new patient appointments, bumped appointments as needed
  • Monitoring and assisting with tech boxes in order to assist with patient/provider activities related to the clinic
  • Collaborates with the Surgical Coordinator as needed to ensure physician schedules are open and available and patients are well educated on next steps. Can additionally serve as the Surgical Coordinator if a Clerical PC.
  • Ensure that the pods are adequately stocked with supplies for both admin and clinical needs. Will review expiration dates monthly on all clinical supplies and adhere to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines and regulations.
  • Assist with rooming, patient workups, vision screening, scribing, when serving as a clinical PC
  • Assist with medication intake, storage, documentation when applicable
  • Assist with prep of procedures, procedure tray, instruments, cleaning when applicable
  • Provide backup oversight for staffing needs, and payroll when applicable
  • Assist with projects and other duties as requested or assigned
