About The Position

The Clinical Placement Specialist (CPS) coordinates clinical placements for students within a specified area. In collaboration with campus/online division colleagues, this role places students into experiences that fulfill clinical coursework requirements and provides synergy with the students schedule of other courses to fulfill graduation requirements. The CPS ensures that student clinical hours are fulfilled as prescribed by programmatic leaders and in accordance with State Boards, programmatic accreditors, or other regulatory entities. The Clinical Placement Specialist reports to the Director of Clinical Placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience working in clinical, healthcare, office/auditing, or higher education setting.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • We do not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Major in healthcare administration, business administration or related field is preferred
  • Experience in Clinical Operations at an institution of higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Students and Faculty to Fulfill Clinical Requirements
  • Ensures students are placed in clinical assignments by established timelines to ensure proper student readiness for clinical experience.
  • Plans hours of need by facility to ensure clinical experience fulfills hours needed for student course requirements.
  • Follow protocols established by affiliated clinical sites to assign students in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensures student clinical placement meets expectations for reasonable distance.
  • Escalates student issues as prescribed for intervention by faculty, student support, and program leaders.
  • Coordinate with programmatic leadership to ensure faculty are assigned and supported with site expectations appropriately.
  • Facilitate Processing and Reporting on Clinical Placement for Assigned Population.
  • Update records accurately to maintain reporting capabilities for assigned population.
  • Follow prescribed communication protocols to inform leadership of non-compliant individuals and needed interventions.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of affiliated site processes for clinical assignment.
  • Ensures that clinical cohort size is optimized with positive student learning experience.
  • Use established systems to track data and generate reports and needs on a regular basis
  • Support Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance Initiatives
  • Collaborates with programmatic and academic compliance leadership to complete regulatory reporting needs related to clinical as assigned by the Director of Clinical Placement.
  • Adheres to guidance provided by academic compliance team and programmatic leadership when seeking clinical affiliation in new markets to align with state and board approval requirements.
  • Adheres to state/local consortium clinical expectations/requirements to obtain clinical affiliations.
  • Participates in regulatory visits as needed.
