About The Position

Children's Mercy is a top pediatric hospital, recognized for eleven consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report, located in the heart of Kansas City. The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to all patients, ensuring consistency with hospital and pharmacy department goals. This involves reviewing drug orders for appropriateness (drug, dose, frequency), identifying and resolving drug-related problems such as allergic reactions and interactions, and overseeing supportive personnel. Pharmacists are expected to apply their knowledge and experience to assess and improve patient care, identify medication-related patient safety risks, and resolve or escalate problems promptly. The role may allow for remote work based on departmental needs and manager discretion. Immunization records are required upon selection, with medical and/or religious exemptions discussed with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in pharmacy from an accredited school
  • No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
  • Licensed Pharmacist - MO or equivalent within 90 days, or application submitted to board of pharmacy prior to hire with pharmacist license obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Licensed Pharmacist - KS or equivalent within 90 days, or application submitted to board of pharmacy prior to hire with pharmacist license obtained within 90 days of hire (only if primary work location is in Kansas).
  • Willingness to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), chicken pox (varicella), and tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) if non-immune or without evidence of vaccination since 2005.
